Diffondere la natura negli spazi urbani costituisce una delle maggiori sfide del XXI secolo; una delle soluzioni più spettacolari è rappresentata dai cosiddetti giardini verticali. Molto più di una serie bizzarra di interventi di decoro urbano, il vertical green rappresenta un’opportunità per portare vita e verde nel grigio metropolitano. Giardini in Verticale è la prima pubblicazione a raccogliere i migliori esempi di questa tendenza emergente, dai primi esperimenti condotti da Vito Acconci, alle anticipazioni in nome del “green over the gray” di Emilio Ambasz, una delle più eclettiche figure dell’architettura del Novecento, dai progetti basati sulla coltura idroponica di Patrick Blanc, agli “edifici germoglianti” di Edouard François. Arricchito da un percorso critico che raccoglie le riflessioni sulle espressioni tradizionali del vertical green degli interpreti dell’architettura e del garden design, Giardini in Verticale presenta una selezione, organizzata per sezioni tematiche, di opere espressive della tendenza sempre più diffusa a ibridare materiali artificiali e vegetali per conquistare la dimensione verticale.
Anna Lambertini has a PhD in landscape architecture and conducts research at the Università degli Studi in Perugia and Florence
Jacques Leenhardt is a writer and a professor at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. His fields of specialized study include art and landscape design.
Mario Ciampi has been an architectural photographer for more than twenty-five years and his work has appeared in numerous magazines worldwide, most notably Casa Vogue and Architectural Digest.
Jacques Leenhardt and Anna Lambertini will be in Italy in the International conference:
